Population: 36,324  ¨The majority of the population of Summit County resides in Park City and the surrounding unincorporated area commonly referred to as the Snyderville Basin. The population of the Snyderville Basin area has been estimated at 16,000 people. This area has seen much growth as a bedroom community because of its proximity to Salt Lake City and its appeal to Salt Lake workers seeking a better quality of life. In contrast, the rest of the county consists of smaller towns, rural areas and National Forests.
